Well I've been putting this off for so long now that I decided to go ahead with this little project.

After so many years you notice that your dash board gauges are kinda fading ,so here goes anything!

Wow   what a difference!!

Very easy project and allot of fun too!
This little project was done on both of our automobiles....300SD (126) and 300D 1983(123).

 Out of a coat hanger I made myself two hooks that I bended at 90 degree and grind the ends off.

 Enter a hook on each side of the dash bezel,make sure your hook is entering in a upwards position.

 Turn both hooks towards the center of the dash and gently pull towards you,it might need some convincing,so go ahead and pull 

 Ok the left side is out..now the other side.

 Now you need to disconnect the few light bulbs, harness,speedometer cable and oil line.Don't worry about oil leaking,it wont happen.

 Now that everything is disconnected,bring you dash bezel to your work bench and lets start disassembling the whole thing.

 There are 8 screws like this that you need to remove.

 First off the tachometer.

 Then the speedometer.

 And last but not least the oil,gas and temperature gauge.

 Bought myself a small container of fluorescent orange color at my local hobby store with a 00 size brush.

 Take a piece of paper and place it under the needles that need painting.

 Make sure before you start painting to clean the needles with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab so that the paint adheres well.

 I applied two coats of paint,let the first one dry for 10 minutes or so then hit the next coat.

 First coat.

 Done!

 Time to reassemble.
Start with the last gauge out so on so forth...

 Fuel oil and temperature gauge,then speedometer,and last your tachometer.

Inside door handle bezel replacement

Has this happen to you yet?
The interior door handle bezel cracked.

Here you can see the cracked bezel around the inside door handle.

 New bezel and plastic insert.Pretty expensive stuff if you ask me!....

 With a small flat head screw driver pry out the plastic bezel,if your going to keep that one use caution not to scratch.

 Remove the small Phillips screw holding the bezel in place.

 Now remove the large Phillips screw holding the arm rest handle

 Once the old bezel is removed,simply pull it out of the arm rest handle and slide in the new one.

 Pull on the door handle and the same time holding the bezel back so that you can put your Phillips screw back in place.

Injector nozzles and fuel delivery valves

Well its finally done.

Removed the old and used injector nozzles and installed brand new Monark's.
Very easy job.But you most definitely need a super clean environment when reassembling all of the parts involved.
Unfortunately I don't have a video of the engine start up,but believe me It sounds great,some nailing at start up but after a small road test everything came back to normal and also a noticeable increase in power!

The symptoms started last year when I noticed some smoke at start up,and engine shake at start up also. 
Did several diesel purges but not much improvement.
Then about a month ago I could smell diesel inside the car....My delivery valve seals were leaking from the injection pump.
Then I knew I had to do something.Did allot of research on different makes of nozzles including Bosch and found one brand that suited my needs,Monark,
German brand that's been around for many many years and the price was very reasonable too. 
While waiting for my nozzles to arrive I did the delivery valve seals ...

Glow plug replacement on a 126.125,with a 603.961 engine.

 In order to replace glow plugs on a 126 125,with a 603 6cyl engine you will have to remove the intake manifold and the cross over pipe.

 You will need the manifold gasket and the cross over gasket.

 A new set of glow plugs.Bosch is a must don't go cheap or you will have to redo this project all over again.

 Tools needed.Also you want to invest in a reamer for the glow plugs.this will remove any excess carbon that has built up in the chamber.If this is not done your glow plugs will wear out prematurely and engine will be hard to start.

 Cross over pipe removal.

 Now you will remove the intake manifold studs with your metric allen key

 Remove the old gasket and make sure to clean the cyl head and intake before re/assembly

 Glow plug wires are removed

 reamer is being used to clean the inside of all carbon.

 Now time to put everything back together.

All these pictures refer to replacing the glow plugs on my Mercedes Benz.
